Pacific Wave Three-Peats at OSSC Northwest

Pacific Wave Three-Peats at OSSC Northwest

On Thursday, May 25th, nine teams from Northern California gathered at Pleasure Point in Santa Cruz for the fourth stop of the Oakley Surf Shop Challenge.  Teams were fired up and ready to dethrone defending champions Pacific Wave in glassy 2-3 ft surf and light rain, but Pacific Wave had other plans, dominating the final and claiming the three-peat Northwest victory!

“Conditions were small going into the event, but we ended up having super fun waves and everyone was having a good time! Said Austin Smith-Ford.  “My whole teams is from the West side of town so I had to bring them to Pleasure Point and show them the ropes. They put me as the whammy guy and I had a stressful first 20 minutes, but I was able to get one really good one that was an 8.5. We’re stoked to take the win and can’t wait to go to Nationals and hopefully put up a better showing than last year”

The victory marks Pacific Waves’ thirds straight win and fifth overall in OSSC history.  Aluminati continued to support with custom OSSC NW trophies and demo boards for all.  The series next heads South to 56th in Newport Beach for the West Qualifier on June 9th.
